Technical Director Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology from Washington State University. After several years working around the globe with winemaking roles in Switzerland, New Zealand, Washington and Oregon, Ben joined ConeTech in early 2013 as its first Production Enologist. He was promoted to Production Manager in early 2015 and promoted again to head up all domestic operations as well as ConeTech’s newly resourced Research and Development department in July 2015.
Director of Operations Jessica graduated from U. C. Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology in 2011. While attending U.C. Davis Jessica worked as an intern at Scribner Bend Vineyards and was promoted to Winemaker and Viticulture Manager post graduation. Jessica was awarded multiple medals and recognition for her wines during her career at Scribner Bend. Jessica joined ConeTech as Production Enologist in 2014.
Wine Production Manager Lillian’s career in the wine industry began in 2004 as a laboratory technician at Taft Street Winery, where she discovered her passion for winemaking and science. Lillian received her degree in enology from C.S.U. Fresno in 2010. She spent five years at Corliss Estates and Tranche cellars in Walla Walla, Washington. She has also worked at Merry Edwards Winery, Pahlmeyer Winery and Wayfarer Vineyard. She joined the ConeTech team in April 2017 and is ConeTech’s Wine Production Manager.
Director of International Winemaking Jane Milligan (formerly Jane Robichaud) graduated from London University in Food Science and received a Masters of Science in Enology at University California, Davis. Jane’s career began with graduate research work with Ann Noble and co-creation of the celebrated Davis Wine Aroma Wheel. She then spent over 17 years at Beringer in various roles including Research Winemaker, member of the Senior Winemaking Team, and Director of Consumer/Winemaking Insights. Jane was elected President of the American Society of Enology and Viticulture from 2000 – 2001 and was the VP Global Business Development at Tragon Corp. Jane’s ongoing work with ConeTech and TFC wines began in 2008 when she helped direct TFC’s research program on Lighter Style wines.
Managing Director South Africa / Director Europe Werner attended Stellenbosch University and graduated with B. Sc. degrees in Enology, Viticulture and Agricultural Science. Over the next 16 years, Werner held positions in both winemaking and management at three of South Africa’s most prestigious wine companies — KWV Wines, Vinfruco Wines, and the Waterkloof Wines subsidiary of the Boutinot Group. In early 2013, Werner joined ConeTech South Africa as its Managing Director. In early 2015 Werner also assumed supervisory responsibility for ConeTech’s European operations.
Technical Director Europe Silvia received a degree in Agricultural engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain and a second degree from La Rioja University in Winemaking. She then traveled around the world learning various methods of international winemaking. Silvia spent four years as Production Manager in a wine cooperative in D.O. Calatayud, worked in Germany in the Mosel area, and worked at About Wine and Style Consult in Neustadt Weinstrasse. Silvia joined ConeTech Iberica in 2015 as Production Enologist, quickly becoming ConeTech’s Technical Director for Europe.
