Director of Domestic Operations / R&D
Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology from Washington State University. After several years working around the globe with winemaking roles in Switzerland, New Zealand, Washington and Oregon, Ben joined ConeTech in early 2013 as its first Production Enologist. He was promoted to Production Manager in early 2015 and promoted again to head up all domestic operations as well as ConeTech’s newly resourced Research and Development department in July 2015.

Jessica Smith winemaker

Jessica Smith

Enologist / Production Manager
Jessica graduated from U. C. Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology in 2011. While attending U.C. Davis Jessica worked as an intern at Scribner Bend Vineyards and was promoted to Winemaker and Viticulture Manager post graduation. Jessica was awarded multiple medals and recognition for her wines during her career at Scribner Bend. Jessica joined ConeTech as Production Enologist in 2014.

Werner Engelbrecht winemaker

Werner Engelbrecht

Managing Director South Africa / Director Europe
Werner attended Stellenbosch University and graduated with B. Sc. degrees in Enology, Viticulture and Agricultural Science. Over the next 16 years, Werner held positions in both winemaking and management at three of South Africa’s most prestigious wine companies — KWV Wines, Vinfruco Wines, and the Waterkloof Wines subsidiary of the Boutinot Group. In early 2013, Werner joined ConeTech South Africa as its Managing Director. In early 2015 Werner also assumed supervisory responsibility for ConeTech’s European operations.

Silvia Cedeno Daguerre winemaker

Silvia Cedeno Daguerre

Technical Director Europe
Silvia received a degree in Agricultural engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain and a second degree from La Rioja University in Winemaking. She then traveled around the world learning various methods of international winemaking. Silvia spent four years as Production Manager in a wine cooperative in D.O. Calatayud, worked in Germany in the Mosel area, and worked at About Wine and Style Consult in Neustadt Weinstrasse. Silvia joined ConeTech Iberica in 2015 as Production Enologist, quickly becoming ConeTech’s Technical Director for Europe.
